Artist Leinil Yu Give Fans A Shot At Some Amazing Original Art AND The Chance To Help Those In Need In The Philippines

I am a HUGE fan of Filipino comic book artist Leinil Yu’s work.  He is the artist for Marvel’s Secret Invasion, Wolverine, and Indestructible Hulk.  He is also the co-creator of Superior and Supercrooks with the Mighty Mark Millar.  He has described his style as “Dynamic Pseudo-Realism” but I just call it mind-blowingly awesome!  (Take a gander at a few of my favorites below and you will see why.)

Well Leinil is taking his talent as well as his popularity and offering fans a chance at owning some special art and helping those in need in the storm ravaged Philippines at the same time.  Here is how he describes the project over on his blog.

 Get a *Chance* to Win 1(ONE) full 11×17 commission from me by bidding anything over $50 usd at http://ushare.redcross.org.ph (Select: Yolanda/Haiyan). Email me receipt/proof of an executed donation at leinil@gmail.com subject: “Art Charity Donation” and I’ll make a sweet drawing for you IF you are the highest donor. All donations will be initially done in secrecy to give everyone a fair chance. All bids are final of course, and non-refundable. This is not similar to ebay bidding so donate the best you can, no need to wait. even if you don’t win, you’ll make a difference;) You may augment your initial bid. In case of a tie, earlier donation wins. Art quality will be the same as my Batman and Death drawings that I did recently.

I NEVER do mail-in commissions so this is an unusual chance, I’ll mail it anywhere in the world, my dime. And no, I will not outbid you. Realistically, if you want a real chance of winning, you may have to bid higher than $50. Whatever you bid, you know where it went, win or lose.
